Buying, selling, and brokering quality model airplanes.

The construction and use of radio-controlled models is a very interesting hobby. Most people dealing with this art, craft or science, depending on how you see it, build little aircraft guided by R/C, but there are also those who prefer to make small ships or cars, and some other weird contraptions, like the scale dinosaur we so once.

Design and construction of these models are of course, indoor matters; you would not start to glue together minute ribs and spars with a wind howling around you and dust, fallen tree leaves and such things flying around your work bench. However, once the little machines are ready, almost the whole activity takes place outdoors; like golf, it is an excellent thing to do if you want to go outside but don't wish to make a lot of exercise. This is particularly true in the case of R/C airplanes and helicopters.

The latter ones went mainstream after 1970; these are complex little machines that over the years found many real-life applications, such as transporting cameras to film special scenes in movie making, but also they can do some patrol work and take place in search and rescue missions looking for survivors in dangerous areas before committing a real aircraft and its crew.

From R/C models to true robots there is only a very little distance, and in fact, some experimental models combining both technologies have already been flown or tested: an aircraft combining R/C and autonomous GPS guidance has crossed the North Atlantic already.

But even the simple construction of basic models is an interesting hobby; car, aircraft and vessel modelling is a craft that requires skill and patience, and may even wake up a vocation in engineering, aeronautical sciences and so on.

If you want to introduce yourself in this interesting activity, or are looking to exchange, buy or sell R/C equipment, this website is a good place to start.
