In Sicily you can visit full-blown galleries containing embalmed bodies of people of all social classes, and let's not forget about the Roman catacombs, made by the early Christians. But always keep in mind that despite the curiosity that these places may spark into people's minds, they are still burial grounds and as visitors we should respect the local customs, those buried there as well as the feelings of those left behind. |
