A fact that is not well known by people is that hair is more common among animals that it might be thought initially; not only mammals have hair sprouting out of the skin, but pterodactyls also had it in large quantities. These flying reptiles evolved side-by-side with dinosaurs and the early mammals; they apparently shared characteristics from both but were neither.

People think that they were in some way related to dinosaurs or birds, but that is not the case, because divisions between dinosaurs, mammals and pterodactyls from a main group of reptiles go back more than two hundred million years; the wing of a pterodactyl is formed by the elongated fingers of its hands, and not like in the case of birds, by the whole arms, neither it follows any anatomical resemblance to the wing of bats.
