Here at Andinia we hab ebeen experimenting an using these kind of machines in order to train for our yearly expeditions. We can tell you that this kind of equipment delivers its best performance if you follow some rules: 1)- The main one so to be persistent and constant. You should use the machines regularly and in a constant fashion: three times a week, and one hour in each session as a minimum. Don't try to use them for six hours one day and rest two weeks afterwards thinking that such a thin is the same as six sessions of one hour each; it will simply not work.
2)- Get yourself some sort of entertainment for each session: music, TV or whatever. Mechanical repetition of movements is very boring, and it is one of the main causes for quitting training programmes such as those that use gym machines. If you have good entertainment - even a niche chat - time will fly.
3)- Start slowly and perform your routines with a moderate effort; excess is not good here, and may even be unhealty or dangerous.
