We believe that this is a spectacular source of information on many different topics, including some that are relevant for outdoor sportsters, adventurers and survival enthusiasts.

History is a part of our world and culture that we cannot affort to indulge in forgetting; if we do so, we may jump again into old, tried-and-tru mistakes. Besides, watching what happened a lot of time ago is always entertaining.

In these days after the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, the proportion of war-related documentaries has increased somewhat in the current programation and perhaps it would be healthy to rebalance the equation a little, unless someone admits that it is good to live 24/7 thinking about combat, weapons and death.

War is indeed an important thing, but it is a tragedy and there is very little to celebrate; moreover: our world is big and there are other things that we should not forget too. The whole goal of learning history is improving, and you cannot do that in an overall sense if you focus just in one aspect.

Don't get us wrong: terrorism is a serious problem, but we have to keep going on with our lives.

But the channel itself shows many documentaries that have a great educational value, esepecially for those dedicated to outdoor and extreme sports; the thing is that you can learn from the mistakes of the past, and emulate the success stories and successful individuals that in this way remain leading by example, even decades after they passed away.

Those old reels where you can see Fangio winning almost 50% of the races in which he cometed, or Mr. Howard Hughes testing some aircraft, or perhaps a couple or explorers among a tribe of cannibals near New Caledonia are well worth the prize of joining in or purchasing a video or DVD.
