Locational astrology, meditation, mysticism, UFOs, etc.

If you just saw a foo fighter above your backyard, or if you truly believe in extraterrestrial visitors, then it is you that perhaps should visit this site.

We can say three things about one of the topics covered by this site: we, the people working at Andinia have seen UFOs during exploration trips around the world, some of us are certified pilots who know how things move in the air (and must pass every year psychological and psychiatric tests in order to continue piloting aircraft), and thirdly, that we have computers working for the SETI program, which tries to find signals of intelligent, extraterrestrial life. But we must stress that regarding the quest for E.T. there are two possible sides: one is that of the belief, of people who just want to believe like in a religious thing.

Another, very different, is the scientific research associated with they question: are we alone?Beyond belief and non-verifiable facts allegations, the existence of unidentified flying objects has been officially recognised by the government and armed forces of various countries like the United Kingdom, Belgium, Mexico, Switzerland and Russia; indeed, those things exist and have some sort of intelligent conduction. But in order to keep scientific rationality in this matter, we must say that stating that an UFO exist or has been seen is precisely to say that we do not nothing about it.

It could come from another solar system, or from beyond the mountains or another country. If it is an UFO, it is unidentified, so concluding anything about its nature just because it was seen is preposterous.

However, following the same rationale, applying the scientific method as well as what we know right now about the universe, the existence of an incredible amount of stars, the number of exo-planets already detected and other data, it is highly unlikely that we will never find other life forms outside our world. It is just a matter of time until we will find them, as any sort of statistical analysis will tell.

The question should be reformulated: it is not a matter of if we will find life, but when, how it will be, where it will be, and what impact would that event have over our world. Indeed, a lot of speculation has been going on about these facts for decades, but considering what we know it will be prudent and reasonable if the scientific community would show what is made of by not acting like if these were ridiculous questions, and start pondering this issue seriously and with caution.

We should also add that there should be a reformulation of space exploration programmes, because nobody seems to be thinking about interstellar space technology development. Our solar system is very interesting indeed, but almost all space lies beyond, and that needs some exploration too.

We know what Einstein's relativity theory says, or better said, how we interpret it in lieu of our culture. Nothing seems to travel faster than light; but more than an unsurpassable scientific fact, this seems like a mental barrier because it is always difficult to open the mind to things which are too strange to deal with.

We are not suggesting that scientists should begin to believe in wizardry or things which are contrary to the scientific method, but the fact that a barrier seems to lie ahead should not be used as an excuse to elude finding a way to pass thorough, above or on the side of it. Nothing is impossible; human spirit finds a way, so there should be something that we may use to actually surpass that barrier and travel in a practical way to the stars.

To say that such a thing is impossible reminds of those who said that flying would be impossible for humans, while seeing all birds going from tree to tree; the Wright brothers proved us how wrong those affirmations were. The fact that we cannot do something naturally with what evolution has given to us may be true, but we humans have intelligence and can develop ways to progress and find the scientific knowledge needed to develop the required technology.

But we must stop saying that we can't.
