 | How to have your fairytale wedding on a shoestring budget. One idea: do it in the wilderness or the mountains.
We personally know the case of a woman who wanted to save some money from her marriage party, but for weeks she struggled with the idea because she did not want to be rude with anyone. Naturally, the first thing that occurs to anyone in such a situation is to send the fewest invitations, but that inevitable leaves people out who may feel offended by that.
But the problem was that she was really on a shoestring, so offended people seemed to be an inevitable consequence of the party. Then, she and her boyfriend came up with a plan: they sent as much invitations as was required by protocol and manners, but instead of inviting people to a traditionally party, they invited them to a tent, literally.
That was a big tent located on top of one of the mountains in California - they were and are both still outdoor enthusiasts, so this did not look suspicious in any way - and the only way to get there was to hike for a whole day, uphill.
Indeed, few people actually made the effort but no one feel offended and on the contrary, people were left joking about their bad physical state. Since few people got there, the party was quite inexpensive, and they saved the day and their money.
