 | Job hunting resources for the oil industry; ideal for engineers, environmentalists and geologists; how to get hired to work within the various fields related to this industry, such as research, environmental issues, drilling, construction, air transportation and piloting, land and marine cargo transport, mechanics, etc.
In the last few years, the price of crude oil has reached new heights; this is produced in part - doubtlessly - by the collusion of oil corporate industries and the United States Government, specifically George Bush and his government, now in the With House. But there are other reasons that explain this enormous increment in oil prices: first of all, the U.S. dollar is suffering a profound devaluation relative to the euro, and this shows.
And then, there is a very real fact: crude reserves are dwindling, and societies in industrialised countries, seem not to understand that there is a real need for change, not only in order to help our environment, but because they will literally run out of gas if they continue full seed ahead in consumerism.
In the long run, this problem may be solved suing renewable, less contaminating and more efficient energy sources, but for the time being the oil industry will remain strong and playing a key role in the world's economy, for good or wrong; this means that there will continue to be a strong demand for skilled workers in the sector and we will witness the survival of these positions.
Even in the case of very specific professional and scientific fields such as geology and micropalaeontology, there will be a demand and these companies will remain seeking talented people to hire. But what is interesting is that some of these oil industry giants are beginning to understand that the days of crude are numbered, and are beginning to move into a new generation of energy gathering operations that will add new jobs and opportunities.
