The march was named 'Ituzaingo' to remember another epic battle, and after Brazil eventually lost the war in a pretty humiliating way, but no on e could ever find the author of the march which - by the way - is pretty nice. Some hypotheses even stat that it was the Brazilian emperor himself the author of the score, expecting to have his guards' band to play it after conquering Buenos Aires, but nothing like that happened. Instead, it went on becoming the presidential march of Argentina, and is played every time a foreign chief of state visits the country, including those coming from neighbouring Brazil. |
