Five Tibetan Rites

The Five Tibetan Rites offer a simple but highly effective exercise program that improves health and well-being. Get in touch with the curative techniques of eastern wisdom and medicine.

There are people who think only in what may happen tomorrow, living day by day, and there are individuals who think in the long term. The first ones depend solely on destiny or luck; the latter have at least the feeling that their future depends on their abilities and mistakes, and it is in their hands.

Short-term thinking persons are 'immune' - so to speak - to any kind of warning or advice that they may receive regarding the effects of certain activities or habits. Prime examples of this are addictions such as drinking, smoking or taking drugs.

1)- We may consider the cigarette as a paradigmatic example in this regard. A vivid representation of the archetype of those who 'enjoy' the 'pleasure' of smoking. Is it really pleasure, or just a social game of exhibitionism? The nonsensical attitude of this people becomes quite evident.

If you are a smoker, please take into account that we are not trying to offend you in any way; we are trying to show you a reality, and that is that the smoker is irresponsible with himself (or herself) as well as with others located near the smoker that receive the same demonstratedly ill effects of smoking. And furthermore, consider that there are two types of smokers: those who do not want to leave the vice, and those who cannot, because they are addicts. There are no more smokers ignorant of the unhealthy nature of smoking.

In the case of those who don not want to give up smoking, we may say that they are 'proud of smoking,' and we may add that their unconscious self-destructive attitude becomes evident, as well as the contempt that they feel for others; we need say no more. Bad people, that is.

In the second case, those who want to quit smoking but can't, there is no contempt for others, but the will to destruct themselves is there (or should we say, the lack of survival instinct?); this becomes manifest from the moment on in which they prefer to continue doing harm on themselves instead of demanding from their conscious will the 'simple' volition act of not putting a cigarette into their mouths. Nobody makes them smoke; they don't start smoking at gunpoint, then it is only them who take the decision, or is it that the body doesn't obey the mind? There is no excuse: you either quit or don not quit smoking.

2)- Self-destructive methods and techniques based on self-comfort and immediate pleasure are so commonplace that comfort and pleasure are now almost the same thing in this era of junk food, too much TV seen from comfortable couches, lifts, and more gadgets than ever. Obesity and weight excess are two common problems among Western citizens that illustrate this point.
