Xtreme Sports Training

Training techniques for extreme and radical sportsters, adapted from elite military units. Very interesting as training means for anyone interested in self defence techniques, martial arts, as well as police and military units.

Radical sports of any sort require comprehensive physical as well as mental training; lack of physical conditions or experience, bad judgement and other subtle factors combined together are the main cause of most accidents within the context of radical activities.

Doing aerobatics in an aircraft is a perfect example: despite the fact that most people - except either brave and experienced or brave and inexperienced pilots, that is - would never dare to fly doing loopings, immelmann turns and rolls, aerobatics is a perfectly safe activity even if it may look as extremely hazardous.

Statistically speaking, aerobatics entail more risk than sightseeing or commercial flying but given that in aviation, odds and chances are measured in millionths and other very, very small fractions, the odds of something going wrong is still pretty small.

However, when a pilot tries to perform aerobatics in an inadequate aircraft, without the required courses and flight hours, in questionable environmental and meteorological conditions, and - quite likely - with the intention to show off pretended skills, that is when factors sum up and an accident becomes almost inevitable.

The same or similar processes could develop in any other sort of extreme sport or activity: mountaineering, ice or rock climbing, windsurfing, mountain biking and so on have their own risk areas which if not properly addresses could cause accidents.

So, training and conditioning should not be taken lightly or remain underestimated in the field of extreme sports; remember that these are not like football, where mistakes could lead to a goal against you and little else. You will lose the match and receive a wound in your ego

Similar mental attitudes would hurt something more than your ego if you don't pay attention to what you do while sky diving, and you would rarely get the chance of another match.
