Here at Andinia we see this new book format for computers more as an experiment and market probing than a mainstream development. It seems that despite our advances in technology, people still prefer to read Edgar A. Poe from a traditional paper book.
But this particular technology may find a practical niche and become actually useful in some cases: for example, technical manuals for explorers and travellers using palmtop computers. In fact, this is already happening, particularly in the field of experimental and general aviation, where pilots are fitting their trikes, paragliders, sailplanes, ULMs and even small 'real' aircraft with palmtop computers in order to save weight, bulk and space that otherwise, charts, SID / STARS, guides, manuals and other items would require.
Plus, there are computer software products that now allow pilots to use their palmtop computers as backup instruments by means of GPS information conversion (i.e. speed, altitude, bearing and so on). Thus, there is a real field of use in this case of anything that goes into a palmtop; technical manuals, guides, survival manuals, charts and other similar items may find their way into such a format.
