And at this point, we would like do digress a little about the sorrowful but obvious need for this kind of gear. Terrorism is not a recent phenomenon, but in recent times, it acquired a level of notoriety, violence and destructive power that is unsurpassed in history, including the use of mass destruction weapons, or WMDs.

We did not arrive to this situation due to an eleventh-hour political decision; such processes require a lot of evolution and indeed, there are imperialistic countries that try to take over other countries, promote harsh policies and so on, and it is true that such deeds contributed to this problem. However, with very rare exceptions, today's terrorist groups are exclusively Islamic in origin.

This is - of course - a perversion of religious values, for Islam does not suggest or promote manslaughter, but has proven very useful for the masterminds of such acts in order to recruit adepts and executors for their ideas. It is however, very necessary that Islamic societies begin questioning themselves about what is going on, because these terrorists that come from within them are attacking indiscriminately, and in recent decades, Islamic countries have been far more violent than any others.

This is evident: Islamic terrorists are killing Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindis, and Buddhists all across the globe in order to realise that pretended excuses like the invasion of Iraq and the Palestine issue are the causes of this problem. The issue of the violence that comes out now from the Islamic culture has nothing to do with religion - Islam is a perfectly acceptable religion, like any other -, and the issues of Iraq and Palestine are just excuses, for terrorism appeared before those situations arose.

Hatred against Israel began when the U.N. gave Israel a territory, so - despite the fact that Palestinians deserve indeed their own piece of territory - by agreement of the whole world, so now it is hypocritical to claim that Israel is intolerant or whatever. Muslims were intolerant with Israel from the first hour.

Everyone has something to look at his or her won home; everyone has skeletons in his or her closet. So there is no pint in trying to blame others.Besides, Palestinians are seen as trouble-makers not only but Israelis. Ask Jordans, who expelled them at gunpoint in 1973, or the Syrians, who did the same about the same time, or the people of Lebanon, where they are widely blamed for the civil war and they do not have even the right to work away from their refugee camps.

And we should not ignore that terrorist attacks existed long before the invasion of Iraq which was - by the way - barbaric under any standard. But let us not forget that Muslim countries like Kuwait and Saudi Arabia where very enthusiastic about it. We have to recognise the fact that in Muslim societies there is a big problem concerning the way in which disputes are treated, and this has to stop because it is a problem for everybody, Muslim and non Muslim.

It is extremely rare to hear about terrorists who are not of Muslim extraction in these days, and aside from what other cultures may have to do, there is clearly a lot of job to be done, instead of hiding behind a veil of blame to others.

There is absolutely no excuse for terrorism, and if this sequence of events is not stopped and one day, a particularly recalcitrant warrior of God or whatever they like to call themselves puts a WMD actually to work, it will be bad for everyone, but the probable reaction of the rest of the world will be very difficult to control against Islamic countries, and again innocent people will pay, but we feel that even the Israeli army will seem like a group of boy scouts by comparison.
