Jim Rohn's Workshops and Special Events

Jim Rohn International also offers conferences, special events and workshops on leadership, self-help, motivation, marketing and personal growth.

Aside from just reading Jim Rohn's books and listening to his audiotapes, you can also attend his mind-opening seminars and participate in a way otherwise impossible in his dissertations.

These quality events take place all the time in the U.S.A. and around the world, so you should check often on their website for new dates and places.

One good way to achieve just that is to subscribe to Jim Rohn's Free Weekly Ezine, where you will find all that information just right on time.

Jim Rohn International can also set up events by request at any location or date. This is very handy for - say - a company that wants to train its sales force, or a sports coach who wants to give his team a lecture on motivation and competitive spirit.

Many times it is difficult to accept the critique from others, but much more difficult is to accept the critique from one self, because we cannot avoid that others may open their mouths, but we can certainly shut our own, so the same forces that close our ears when others open their mouths, first close ours and paralyse our tongue, and then, turn us deaf. From this we can conclude that those who do not listen to others are weak, while those who listen to others are strong; but people who learn to listen to themselves are the strongest of all.

This does not only apply to leadership at the level of corporations and motivation of subordinates; it is something that can be applied to our personal life as well because many of the self-critiques that we may have about our lifestyle are deafened by evasive thoughts created by ourselves. And as we have commented in other pages, self-critique is very useful for improving organisational leadership; now we most add that one of the main beneficiaries of this attitude is not an anonymous co-worker or subordinate, but the leader himself.

Because even celebrities and public persons, powerful leaders, kings and presidents have their private moments, and if they are accustomed to self-critique in their institutional duties, they will also use the same method in what is personal for them, and become very wise as humans. We also said that leaders must have integrity, and it becomes evident that being good leaders also help to improve personal integrity.

This acts like a virtuous circle, providing the good with the best over time; thus, we can also say that those who are wicked and have no integrity will make lousy leaders, and being bad at leading will turn people into even worse individuals. This is the single, most important reason why the actual state of things and concept of what progress means is wrong in the world; because before seeking material progress of a nation or corporation, of an army or a non-profit foundation, the requisite of integrity must be satisfied.

There is no chance that a corrupted organisation under the aegis of corrupt leaders will progress, and neither there is a reason to think that enlightened nations will remain as such is that kind of leaders begin to appear among their ranks. Any appreciation to the contrary, any apparent success or refutation of this rule will only be temporary; sooner or later, lack of integrity will breed lack of success.

This includes developed nations too, but it works in a slightly different way, because to kept the fortunes acquired in the past, one has to be equally capable as those who gathered them, but extra careful so as not to fall into the apparent comfort of laziness, which is the poison that kills integrity. During some time, such nations may produce an aristocracy of good leaders, but as it is impossible to guarantee the integrity of all people, all the time, sooner or later a lazy one will appear, and that will be the beginning of the end.

Empires fall because of that, inevitably.
