| This manual, written by the FAA of the United States is a comprehensive source of aircraft-related knowledge for student pilots, but it is also very useful as a general reference.
It is oriented towards the general aviation aeroplane pilot, but can be useful also in other cases. Fairly well-written and containing lots of graphics and pictures, it covers all important topics such as aircraft structure, aerodynamics, meteorology, engine use and mechanics (piston, turboprop and turbine), regulations and paperwork and more.
We liked particularly the section dedicated to meteorological issues; it is fairly extensive and comes not only with written explanations, but with lots of charts, graphs and pictures showing graphically each point and thus, making it easier to grasp.
We deffinitely recommend it if you are planning to take flight lessons.
