The Pacific Ocean is filled with little, lost paradises, particularly in Polynesia. Every atoll, every volcanic island and coral reef there offers limitless possibilities for travellers and adventurers looking for excellent weather, quiet places with very polite people and no interruptions whatsoever while sunbathing.

There are indeed, many islands, but we recommend you to pay special attention to Easter Island, Hawaii and French Polynesia, especially the islands of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora-Bora.If you visit Easter Island you will be able to admire the near two hundred sculptures left by the tribe of the 'long ears,' vanished about three centuries ago for unknown reasons. This island, locate in the easternmost limit of the Polynesian triangle had regular contact with other islands and thus constitutes the main argument for those that very reasonably say that there was, in fact, contact within the American continent (meaning the whole of it, not just North America), and Polynesia.

Visiting the island may be an excellent choice for those who love archaeology, anthropology and history.Tahiti and its capital, Papeete, now offer almost everything that a modern tourist would expect; we really like the beaches covered with black sand, which have a volcanic origin. The central market in the city is a must-see, as well as riding on the local transportation system, 'Les Trucks' would take you almost anywhere.

We recommend you to go around the whole of Tahiti-Nui at least once; you will enjoy excellent panoramas and golf courses. Moorea is in front of the main island; you can get there by plane in a five minute rid, or by boat, which takes about an hour. If you don't like rough seas, don't take the boat in the afternoon. And regarding Bora-Bora, we can say that it is paradise on Earth indeed. This superb example of an atoll has a fascinating lagoon where lovers of scuba diving and snorkelling may feast their eyes.Hawaii, on the other hand, lies on the northernmost tip of Polynesia. Oahu is where the biggest city, Honolulu, is located. This is a big city and you have there lots of attractions, but it is not so wild as Tahiti.

The biggest island in the archipelago has active volcanoes that also merit a visit; but the loveliest, in our opinion, is Maui. This island, while not so big, offers also many attractive opportunities; be ready though, for a rough landing. The airport at Lahaina is considered as the windiest in the U.S.A. because of the venturi or funnelling effect that nearby mountains have over winds coming down to the main valley.
