MSFS has been in production for nearly two decades and now it is a mature flight simulator able to reproduce the real flight of aircraft with extraordinat accuracy.
If you want to get as close as possible to the real thing, you should fly a real aircraft; but anything short than that MSFS will really show you as exactly as possible how does a real airplane flies.
While flying an aircraft may seem daunting, it is not; indeed, taking off and landing an aircraf by yourself takes practice, as does many maneuvres but simulators are indeed educational and training tools that can actually help you a lot to learn how to do things up there, even if you are taking flight lessons.
MSFS comes with tutorials, videos and manuals explaining the basics of flying aircraft; many of the default airplanes that come programmed with it (you can add more, and there are sites where you can download thousands of add-ons for free) behave exactly as their real counterparts.
So, if you are someone trying to get a grip on what means to fly an airplane, helicopter, etc. or a pilot in need to a training tool, this one may be for you.
