Princípios Fundamentais de Fisiologia do Exercício

This is a very easy to understand book with lots of pictures and graphs, a glossary and comments on each graph.

There are indeed many text books on physiology and exercising, but the format and organisation of almost all of them is a little bit old-fashioned and reveals the strong connection that existed in the mid-70s between gym physiology, sports and athletic development.

On the other hand, this is a recent work with up-to-date information not usually presented in this sort of books and with an unique format.

In our opinion, this material adds good and interesting information to understand what happens with our bodies when we finally take the initiative and start doing some athletics or going to the gym. We all know that these things are good, but little is known among the non-specialised public about the reaction of the organism to physical activity, and what has to be taken into account to make sure that the effort is worthwhile and healthy.
