But whenever you think about these historical monuments, you should also think about Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and CAOS.

It is quite common that Westerners reaching the city for the first time with a somewhat romantic preconceived idea bout the region are firstly confronted with what they perceive as a total mess. The city never sleeps and the road traffic is the same at 6:00 PM and at 3:00 AM; nearly 20 million people live nearby, so there is a lot of noise and activity.
