This picture was taken shortly after taking off from El Bolson airport, in which the southernmost tip of the Piltriquitron range can be seen; this is arguably the most characteristic landmark of this region of the Andes. Despite the clouds, conditions for flying are still fair because the height of Mount Piltriquitron (around 2.000 metres) indcates that the overcast layer is far higher, a fact that can also be deduced from its morphology (cirrocumulus). However, going to the mountains, either walking or flying, implies that visitors should bear in mind that weather conditions may change dramatically in thirty minutes or even less.
