This picture shows us a person practising rock climbing techniques in a wall in Spain, a few years ago. One of the main differences between Alpinism and Andinism, or in broader terms, climbing in the Andes of America (speaking correctly, America is the whole continent, not just the U.S.A., and Latin Americas tend to resent that intellectual 'approriation') versus doing so in any European country (not just the U.E., by the same token) is that getting to the actual places where you will climb in the Old World is easier and don faster, while going to climb in the Andes usually requires a full-scale expedition due to the relative remoteness of these mountains. So climbing is practised more frequently in Europe and thus, you see more European climbers than American (Latin+Central+North American) climbers, but in the New World you will find more prepared expeditionaires among climbers.
