The starter is initiated and the flames come out of it.

Fire starters, be them commercially purchased or homemade generally provide for a couple of minutes of very hot flames. This time should be used wisely by placing a necessary and sufficient amount of wooden chips on top in order to propagate the fire to the whole pagoda.
