Around lakes and fjords it will be generally possible to find trails. Save the case of some very isolated places around the world, such topographical landmarks constitute no special or impassable obstacles. Just take into account that trails and roads that go around them are almost certainly longer than any route done by navigating or sailing directly over the water, so if you have the chance and it is safe, take the boat instead of the trail and you will save a lot of effort and time.
