Trails frequently disappear in open places like this one. In order to find the trail again you should walk straight ahead, to the other side of the field; there, where the forest stars again you will generally find the trail marked on the ground. In open places animals and people alike tend not to move so much in a straight line like in a forest, following a trail where there is scarce space to move to the sides. So, the ground is not erodes so much by steps and trails are not generally imprinted as clearly as in more confined areas or kind of terrain.
