Today is a national holiday in Argentina, in which we remember the last military coup d'etát in the country, exactly thirty years ago. Since it is a holiday, I planned to do some flying with my Piper Cub Special; however, I sat the whole day in the hangar waiting for the skies to clear and while I was doing whatever you can do when you have to burn-up time, the AM / FM radio stations kept talking about the date. At one moment, some journalist interviewed one of the leaders of the "Mothers of Plaza de Mayo", which became some sort of international icon for in the struggle for human rights, liberty and democracy.
The lady in question was - not unexpectedly -, talking in rather harsh terms about the military and forgetting to say words - at least one - about other terrorist bands that scavenged the country at that time, including extreme-left ones. But since their struggle for human rights is one of all sensible mankind, I think that honouring truth is one of the best things that we can do to sort thing out. In other words, I believe that while the idea that they represent is inherently good, they are croonies that deserve to be exposed.
And if you don't believe me or if you are a U.S. citizen, you should read that I made on what these ladies said shortly after the events of September 11, 2001 in the United States.
