Under survival conditions an dif you have a firearm – you should always carry one if you go into the wilderness – you can use some of your ammunition to start a fire if you have no matches or a lighter. First of all, you should take the bullet out using a vise, two stones or pliers.
Then, you can take the gunpowder out and use it directly as a fire starter, or better yet, leave it inside the cartridge and clog it with cloth bits tightly compacted and placed where the bullet used to be. Then, shoot the gun aiming at point blank at the already prepared fireplace or bonfire.
After shooting the modified ammo, collect the little pieces that will certainly have caught fire by now and nurture them until they grow into a good flame.
