Weapons may be needed for survival reasons; sometimes it will just be advisable or mandatory to carry any sort of weapon or gun, but most of the times people prefer to have at hand a firearm. There are places and situations where carrying a gun is just a matter of life: take, for example, any city in Iraq, like Fallujah, Basra or Tikrit. Or go to Afghanistan and see if in Herat, Kandahar or Faizabad you could go on a street with a smile in your face and a peace sign in your t-shirt chest... someone will use it as an aiming point for sure.
And if you visit other, perhaps more peaceful places like Qala Panja or Sarhad-i-Wakhan, you could even sell or barter a gun really well; it actually pays to have a pistol or rifle there. So the reality of life is that in some places
guns are part of daily life more or less like consumer electronics. However, before carrying a firearm for survival reasons you should take into account some very important considertions.
