Paintball is more than just a game; it is a sport in its own right and helps a lot to develop leadership and wilderness skills. It is also a very valuable combat training aid, but there are certain rules to be respected.
Safety, of course, must be paramount; paintball guns can hurt people, albeit not fatally, and the wounds that they can inflict are often painful. It is something that has to be approached with caution in the sense that safety must never be compromised to enhance or compromise the fidelity of the game as a combat simulation.
But having said that, it should also be said that there are many different options and possibilities beyond the basic paintball game of suburban quarters as it is practiced by most enthusiasts.
