Here at Andinia we have always been keen on lessening the tax burden of hard working, honest people that fall prey victim to voracious governments around the world by telling how to make their savings survive by using , but we must confess that what the presidential candidate of Argentina and almost sure winner of the race, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has done:
Apparently she never graduated from law school because at least her diploma never surfaced the public light, neither records of her finishing all the courses, plus, apparently shen never paid one single tax in her life because the AFIP (the Argentine IRS) doesn´t have a number or file in any category for this "lawyer", current senator and quite likely, future president. There have been numerous requests from journalists and lawyers (undisputed ones) made in order to see any document demonstrating any of both things.
But surprisingly, the University of La Plata, where she apparently studied, cannot produce any records, and the AFIP doens´t seem too keen on providing anything of the sort, while at the same time they are more than eager to "find out" what a common citizen does with the most modest of credit cards or bank accounts. Publicly the tax men in this, one of the southernmost nations on Earth want to portray themselves as omniscient big brothers that scoop thorough people´s private lives in order to cash in their tax-money but suddenly they seem to feel amnesic regarding the wife of the president and future president herself - not to say that this isn´t some form of modern nepotism.
So that´s how things should be done! Become a politician, use political marketing and a good portion of the voting population - start with the most gullible and ignorant, since they will have less grey matter - and presto! You will pay no taxes for more than 30 years.
So, next time you think that protecting your money by putting it in an offshore account doesn´t seem the quite right thing to do, think it twice: Argentina´s leaders, and your political leaders as well, have already done so before starting to messs up with the country in which you live in.
