I would like to buy Andinia.com. How much is it?

Strangely enough, we have received this question before, but we don't know the sense in which this issue was put forward, so we decided to put this answer here. Andinia.com is the result of more than fifteen years of work collecting information, doing expeditionary work and quite a few risky things. It also meant a significant efforts in terms of pure systems development and web-related work. This has been no small undertaking; therefore, we would only entertain offers starting at U$ 1,000,000.

If you think that such a figure is too much, just think again: an Andinia.com's systems programmer puts something like 2,400 man-hours of work every year (that's at least day, 6 days a week), and as you may find out elsewhere, each hour of exclusive, handcrafted, full-time programming goes for no less than U$ 100 which leads us to a nifty U$ 240,000 per year, per programmer.

And that's just for starters: each one of the expeditions from which the core of our content evolves costs not only a few thousands, but on many occasions means risking the lives of those explorers who actually do the job under extreme circumstances, including - but not limited to - avalanches, drought, combat, forest fires, blizzards and storms in the South Atlantic. We do this because we like it, but that doesn't mean that we don't value our time and butts, and all this has been going on since 1986.

Or in other words, how much do you think your own life is worth?
