Makalu - Mountain or mount of 8453 MSL, one of the eight-thousanders the planet Earth, located in the Himalayas, in China and Nepal. His first ascent was recorded May 15, 1955 by french mountaineers Jean Couzy and Lionel Terray. Also known as "Makaru". Coordinates: 27°53´21"N 87°05´19"E.
