GEON - Short for 'gravitational-electromagnetic entities'; these were wormholes calculated by Wheeler in the 1950s, which were non-traversable and characterised by singularities. These wormholes were calculated based on the equations that couple electromagnetism with general relativity. They have odd properties derived from the fact that they have no material mass or charge whatsoever and all their gravitational strength comes from their electromagnetic field.
