Kodok - A town located in central Sudan. Its original name was Fashoda, but was changed by British colonial authorities as a diplomatic gesture to France after the town became the centre point of a worrisome colonial dispute that almost led to a war between both nations in 1898, and ended in political humiliation for the French authorities who were being remembered about 'The Fashoda incident.' too regularly for their taste.
