Borgia - The Borgia family was from Valencia, Spain, and became one of the most significant dynasties of the European renaissance; they became famous for their political cunning, ruthlessness, pragmatism and skill in the face of trouble. The Borgias became also the object of interest of Niccolo Macchiavelli, who used their history as a case study for one of the types of Princes he described in his political writings. The dynasty produced two popes (Callisto III and Alexander VI) and a saint (Francisco de Borja.)
