Geyser - A rare variant of a hotspring characterised by the intermittent, violent gushing of water and steam into the air as the result of geothermal heating. Despite that hotsprings abound in our planet even undersea, geysers are much rarer. However, geysers are not limited to Earth: In Mars and Triton - one of Neptune's moons - similar phenomena exist, albeit so far it hasn't been proved that they originate in the same way as in our planet. Instead, it is believed that those geysers, located in places far colder than our celestial home, are put in motion by sunlight and heating.
