NTSB Participating In Investigation Of A-320 Runway Overrun In Honduras
The National Transportation Safety Board is dispatching a team of investigators to assist the governments of Honduras and El Salvador in their investigation of a fatal runway overrun today involving a TACA Airlines Airbus A-320 in Tegucigalpa.
NTSB Senior investigator Robert Benzon will serve as the United States Accredited Representative. He will be accompanied by an NTSB powerplants investigator, two investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and a representative from International Aero Engines. The BEA of France is also sending an Accredited Representative and a team to participate in the investigation.
The investigation is being conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of El Salvador (under delegation by the Government of Honduras), which will release all information on the progress of the investigation.
