A well-known and very prolific family of rabbis.

"Patience, time, and money accommodate all things." - Proverb.

Horowitz is one of those family names that for whatever reason or stereotypes is associated with Jews. It is a fairly common name but this is related to the fact that it has been a prolific rabbinical family, plus the fact that there might be several families that are unrelated but carry it for reasons similar as those that pertain to the Cohen family name - i.e. that many people, especially in Russia, tried to evade a military draft that lasted up to 25 years and ruined the lives of those affected by it by appearing as rabbis or related to them, considering that religious people were exempted from military service in the Russian Empire.

There are indeed famous people that carried this name: Isaiah Horovitz, the Shelah HaKadosh from Prague who was a prominent mystic of the XVI century, Yaakov Isaak Horowitz, the Seer of Lublin, who allegedly could see at a distance by supernatural means, Vladímir Samóilovich Hórowitz, who was an exceptional pianist of the XX century.
