A PA-18 with even a smallish engine can land and takeoff in very tight places, and with a high-end motor, it really can take off like a fly: I saw once a 180 HP Super Cub equipped with tundra tires go flying with almost no roll at all. It took of in about the length of its fuselage.

As it is a conventional gear aircraft with significant power, it has quite a bit of p-factor (the tendency to turn in the direction opposite to the turning of the propeller), so it is not for everyone. But for those who master it, it becomes a formidable airplane in every sense.
