These will help you to maintain a fire going on even during the most difficult circumstances. Don't confuse these with traditional camping cookware or heaters, which are not really a part of a basic preventive survival kit.
Portable combustibles are carried along with your gear, and are very helpful for increasing the temperature in 'newborn' fires. If there is a lot of wind or humidity in the area, such a temperature increase can be decisive. As you may have deduced already, these resources should be used cautiously.
