Death occurs when the body has lost approximately 15% of its weight due to dehydration. If an individual weights, for example, 100 kg., death would occur at a body weight of around 85 kg.

It is very important to remember that dehydration is a non-stop process; it always occurs due to physical laws of our universe, and it cannot be avoided, even on cold days or when the sky is overcast. Thus reposition of liquids must be considered at all times and during any kind of outdoor activity.
