"Whenever you travel with a camera, make sure that you are taking with you some additional batteries for it, just in case. Particularly in cold and/or humid areas, batteries tend to loose their charge quicker than normally.

Besides, if your trip is special for some reason, you should consider taking a second, backup camera as well.

This might sound a little too redundant but if you have just worked a whole year to make the trip of your dreams to India, and have spent a couple of thousands of dollars on it, it would be silly to loose your camera and be unable to take pictures just because you did not take with you a second, hundred-dollars camera"
