"During an expedition or trek, food has to be proportionally divided and must be carried in such a way by the members of the group.

If the expedition is a long - term event or one that requires a significant amount of food to be carried, it would become necessary and desirable to redistribute food and other consumable provisions among its members along the way.

I have seen cases in the past when some members of a trekking group attempted to make others consume first the food that they carried in their own backpack in order to get it lighter much sooner than the rest of the team.

Avoiding such attitudes by redistributing the cargo leads to an increase of the group’s overall walking speed and efficiency, as well as to better relationships and behaviour, since it will avoid misunderstandings between its members.

To obtain maximum benefits, these practices should be inscribed within a whole weight-reduction methodology."
