"Walking in the wilderness, and especially, in mountainous regions, requires good nourishment.

It is worthless to attempt to save money on weight on food, because what could be saved is lost on others aspects, such as convenience, comfort and general well -being, not to mention time and even health.

A good daily nourishment under such circumstances requires alt least three meals a day, being breakfast and dinner the most important ones.

A good breakfast is fundamental in order to start walking with energy and to make good use of the morning. A good dinner means recovering all energy lost during the day, possibly with “heavy” dishes because afterwards, no one is going to continue walking.

During the day, and probably at noon, another meal would be usually required. Soups are most recommendable because they allow for some degree of reposition of liquids and energy. However, such a lunch should never carry fats or compounds that are slowly digested. Eat well and you will enjoy your trip."
