"A roll of metallic wire could become very handy on your next trip to repair almost anything. I have used wire in the past to repair bicycles, rucksacks, tents and a myriad of broken things and parts of your gear.

Just a metre (three feet) rolled into a small pack will do the trick for you.

However, you will also need to take with you some tool to cut it, because the most recommendable kind of wire for such deeds is that of a diameter around 3 mm.

Luckily, most survival and pocket knifes of good quality will help you to perform those required cuts with no trouble.

The best place to keep your little roll of wire is a pocket on your backpack’s lid, where it would be reachable at all times with little or no difficulty."
