Goodness is not a degree, neither it is an expiation of Sin. It is a quality that human souls have to let themselves find themselves. Sometimes, under a face of goodness evil may be hiding, and sometimes, when we think that we are right we are - in reality - wrong. One of such aspects that we should start questioning is what the world is doing - especially its super-powers - regarding those nations that we call 'rogue.' Countries like North Korea, Iraq, Cuba, Vietnam and Libya have suffered embargoes, sanctions, and even military attacks in which only the innocent population has suffered. And if you think that using such methods is right, think again: you wouldn't like to endure the same treatment just because someone, somewhere, thinks that yours is a rotten country. Do they have weapons of mass destruction? It is likely - if you are reading this in English - that your country has them too. Is your Anthrax better than theirs? Does it kill just the bad guys? Do these regimes sponsor terrorism? Well, Mr. Ben Laden was sponsored by the United States at the beginning of his career, and this country that prides itself in being a light of democracy supported more than seventy military revolutions in Latin America since 1824. Is Fidel Castro evil? Just think of what the United States did to Cuba in the years prior to that. Is Saddam Hussein bad for tossing mustard gas on the Kurds? Indeed, but was it better when the British did a similar thing in Iraq at the beginning of the twentieth century. It is critically important for world peace that we don't live according to double standards, but believe in real goodness instead. More information: Articles and studies from Andinia.com.
